Joy Gosney is a Yorkshire born artist, raised in the flat fens of Lincolnshire, relocated to both London and Brighton and is now based in Nottinghamshire. She gained her BA in Illustration from the University of Kingston in 1999 and has been practicing in the fields of art, design and illustration commercially throughout her career

Since 2021, working in acrylic paint and often combining elements of mark making using oil pastel and pencil, Joy's work focuses on the natural rhythm of landscape, often emerging organically from an abstract underpainting. She has staged two successful solo shows, and exhibited in several well-received group exhibitions around the country. Most recently, one of her paintings has been selected to exhibit in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2024, open June to August

Joy works from her painting studio in the garden of her home in Newark on Trent
